VILLAINS AREN'T BORN, THEY ARE MADE

Have you ever watched a movie more than once hoping it would somehow change how it ends? Warning, if you still haven't watched Endgame, please do not continue to read this blog (I wrote this sentence like a month ago so chances are it's no longer valid). I think Endgame is the first Avengers movie I have not been able to watch twice. And this is not because it wasn't AWESOME 🙌. More because it left me feeling MAIMED 😭 But if I had known in advance that Far From Home would have Stark's signature all over it, I think I would have passed. It should have been obvious perhaps, but yeah. Why they chose Zendaya to be MJ, is between them and their childhood fantasies. Don't get me wrong, she makes a great Shake It Up KC Undercover girl (also not a fan 🙈) but I liked her better in The Greatest Showman. My background check tells me that the MJ in FAFH is not Mary Jane Watson as I previously thought. She is in fact Michelle Jones "a sort of half twist, half homage to the original character, with the initials MJ nodding to Spidey's OG love interest. So she is, and also kinda isn’t, Mary Jane. More so than anything else, the character is just carrying on the tradition of Mary Jane and the place she's held in Peter’s heart in other iterations". This sorta makes me feel better (some hateration there for ya hehe). I for one don't want to hear the words, "Tony Start is gone" or "the next Iron Man" okay? Thank you. Moving on. Even the best of swimmers will eventually drown if they stay too long in denial, right? (Get it? Ah forget it LOL). But yo they really went overboard with the zombie Iron Man. Was that really necessary?? Way to traumatize the weeping fans, Marvel!!! The scene where Peter Parker jumps out of the tour bus to stop a drone strike he'd accidentally ordered on the guy who was making moves on MJ (guys, it's never that serious! LOLest) was probably my favourite. That scene and the one from the last battle (or was it? 🧐) with Mysterio (dude had mad illusionist skills!) when he had to rely on his Spidey senses or "Peter Tingle" as Aunt May called it haha and fight blindly. Villains like Mysterio, along with his disgruntled counterparts (all former employees of Tony Stark) were all driven by anger which turned into hatred which turned into a thirst quenchable only by revenge. People are never just "like that". There is always a reason they are the way they are. A hurt, a disappointment, a misunderstanding, an unmet expectation. Take Audrey (Descendants 3) (disclaimer: I wasn't the one watching, I just happened to be in the room 😉); now there's a good example of what anger can do to it's host. Would it help to think of anger as a virus? We each have a choice to be the villain or the hero in our own story. And each choice has its own rewards. Hatred is just anger unchecked. Most wars are born of anger which got out of control. In a war there are always two sides, both believing they are right. Hear both. And make sure you are on the side that is fighting for peace. It also pays to know who your real enemy is. Turns out, Mysterio was exactly who he said he wasn't or as Happy tried to caution in his coded message to Fury,"Looks can be deceiving." When you hurt other people because you are angry with them, it's really yourself you end up hurting. The Holy Scriptures say, "Be angry, but sin not." You have the right to feel your feelings. So feel it, don't become it. Anger, like alcohol is intoxicating. It clouds your judgment. Makes you say and do things you would otherwise not. Let me ask you this; are you the things that you expect people to be towards you? Do you expect people to overlook _your_ faults? Look past _your_ goof ups and forgive you when _you_ do _them_ wrong? Then why can't you? In the end we all want to get to one place, don't we? So in the words of Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along?" 🤷 ✌️
